assignment 10 - color exercise
(Revision 4)
THE PROJECT
Due Week 9
On a piece of poster board or heavy paper, make a grid of 1” squares like the one below, with each square divided in half diagonally. It should have 6 columns across, and 6 rows of squares down. In other words, one row and one column for each of the 6 color of paints included in the kit available at the school book store.
STEP 1
Fill the lower half of a square with a solid coating of a 50-50 mixture of two colors. One color should be a color listed along the left side of the grid, and other color should be the one listed along the top. For example, the third row across is labeled “yellow” and the fourth column down is labeled “red,” so for the square where they intersect you would make a mixture that is half yellow and half red (producing orange). Paint the mixture into the lower section of the appropriate square. Save some of this mixture for the next step.
STEP 2
Mix the left-over portion of the color with an equal amount of white paint to fill the upper section of the same square. In the case of the example mixture, the result would be a pale orange.
